A Kaleidoscope of Human Souls - by fatima

It's quite true that many times, words are not enough to express life's experiences. What I have been living as a working guest, since I arrived at NewBold House in the second week of January (2009) is one of those experiences.

However, I dared to search for the most precise and clear words to convey what, a significant experience, "Newbold House's family" and the unique environment that surrounds it, has been for me. A transformational place, is the best description that comes to my mind to characterize NewBold House.

Transformational in the sense that the richness of interaction between staff and working guests allows for the building of bonds of friendships which are really powerful influences on personal transformation. The community is growing and human wisdom abounds in NewBold House. Even the cat, Minky, is wise and lovely!
The people who are there make the place and the difference. Therefore NewBold House is what it is thankfully due to the magic of Human Spirit.

I believe that the magic happens when there is integrity, respect and a deep comprehension between people. These three vital conditions are like the humus that enriches the soil for growing  plants. The spirits of the human beings who are in NewBold House  form the seeds which are growing towards the oneness of the Universe.
There is a sense that when we are living in a community there are also challenges in a way that people interact with each other. In fact, living in a community is a life's school where our own character is strengthened and our mind is broadened every moment. I feel that this happens in a simple talk at the teabreak or in homecare or garden.

This is my testimony for the moment and is not a final acknowledgement, because my journey in NewBold House has more days ahead.

In any case, it makes sense for me to personalise my thanks, because each person has a name. Moreover NewBold House is not an abstract entity, but is a nurturing community made by real people with magic in their hearts.

Jan, thank you for your deep humanity and genuine human comprehension.

Jasmine, thank you for your willingness to listen, deep wisdom and genuine understanding of healing human beings.

Janet, thank you for your sunny disposition and cheer. The way that you speak about nature inspires!

Mary, thank you for your friendly way and sense of humour!

Rekha, thank you for your light and bright talks.

Jefferson, thank you for your friendship, joyful disposition and all the talks through portuguese-brasilian, English and Italian languages. "Boo"!

Christopher, thank you for your deep respect and knowledge about the natural world. It's a privilege to learn and work in the garden!

Thank you to all other working guests that I have had the luck to meet here. To both Thomas' (two working guests with the same name) with whom it has been a delight to work and talk.

I'm sure that many more people will come and with whom I will learn something more, meanwhile I'm here.

I'm living an adventure and unique moment in life. So, I'am and I can be in the present all the time and just enjoying the moment.

This is a dream that allows me to live in a house, like a house of a fairyland, in the middle of a beautiful garden! Great!

Obrigada - in my mother tongue -  God, Jesus Christ and Mother Earth for all! This is all the same: Universe.
