Members

They are the “core” of the community. Completely committed to the vision, the purpose and all the details of the community including the financial awareness. They commit also to inter-personal relationship and common spiritual practice, acting as a group of people who willingly share their own future and spiritual development. They are the main actors for the decision making process. Their payment scheme is subject of further discussion since implies very deep values in the philosophical and spiritual dimensions. At the moment they receive a fixed low wage. Member have no time limitations.

Trustees

Are the formal holders of the Charity Trust which owns the commuity properties. They are experienced volunteers with long term belonging to the Wider Findhorn Community. They support the members in their work and formally have part of the legal responsibilities.


Recruited co-workers

They are people who are pro-actively searched by the community for occupying specific needed positions. They are people with specific skills who like to join their professional abilities with a community life style. Since they are pro-actively searched and requested, they are paid by the community according to the NBH recruited co-workers protocol. Their presence may be unlimited under the recruited co-worker review system.

Recruited co-worker may apply for membership after 10 weeks.

Working Guests

They are people who would like to experience the community life for a while, for personal learning and growth or even for being able to apply the community to join as members. Working guest are accepted as participants of the our Working Guest Core Programme which lasts from a inimum of 2 weeks to a maximum of 6 weeks.

Co-workers

At the end of his/her period a working guest can become a co-worker who cooperate with the community in a working exchange programme. After 6 weeks a co-worker may apply for memebership.

Woofers

They are people coming through the Woof organization (www.wwoof.org) . Their presence is temporary and limited to a maximum of two weeks. Woofers come here to exchange knowledge on organic agriculture even though they are asked to help in other departments as well (under personal agreement). No commitment to community vision and purpose is required, the WOOF protocol is the reference for our agreement with them.
Woofers represent a way for the community to be visited by many “wandering” people who can give and receive their experience, information and support and spread it through the world.

Non residential volunteers

o Regular
They are stable volunteers, i.e. coming with a stable agreement about frequency and/or roles. In addition to their table presence, committed volunteers care the community and support its vision and purpose in several ways.
o Sporadic
They are “casual volunteers”, i.e. coming without any stable commitment with the community.
